I’m one of those people who would be lost without my computer. I use it for work, entertainment, storing family photos – you name it. Not too long ago, I suffered a viral attack that threatened my ability to access my information.
For a while there, I was afraid everything I had on the machine was going to be gone for good. While I could manage to get the computer online, none of my files worked right. I thought for sure it was heading for one fatal crash it could never recover from.
No, I hadn’t been smart enough to back up my files, photos or anything of importance! That’s what had me so worried.
After running free virus scans and determining that none of them could help, I broke down and purchased Norton AntiVirus protection. Let me tell you, it was one of the best moves I could have made.
The program quickly and easily located the problems on my machine. Yes, it turned out that I had more than one. Two viruses to be exact and about 70 different tracking cookies I just didn’t want there. After identifying the threats, Norton went to work eradicating the problems from my machine. It did so with a speed that amazed me.
When all was said and done, Norton AntiVirus has removed the issues and provided a few other benefits that made this purchase very worthwhile in my eyes. Since adding Norton onto my computer, I’ve discovered:
- It runs faster – Without all those pesky tracking cookies and unwanted files, my computer runs like it did on the day I bought it. If I had known this was going to be one of the perks, I would have bought Norton AntiVirus much, much sooner.
- It doesn’t really get in the way – Since I occasionally use my machine for entertainment (gaming), I was concerned a virus protection program would get in the way and slow things down. Norton makes this pretty easy to deal with. While the program doesn’t recommend shutting it down, it does provide an easy panel to use to make this so. This means I can disengage the firewall and other protections while I game and quickly reengage them when I’m done.
- It provides the peace of mind I need – There’s nothing worse than thinking files, programs and photos are gone for good. Norton AntiVirus takes this worry away for the most part. While it’s still a great idea to backup to protect against hardware failure, Norton lets me know my machine is protected from malware attacks.
After having one nasty run in with just what hackers can do to a machine, I’ve never been without Norton AntiVirus. The level of protection it provides is well worth every penny. While the lesson to protect was almost costly, I’m glad I learned it before it was too late!
