As Symantec prepares to roll out the latest versions of its computer protection programs, consumers might be wondering what’s different. In the case of Norton 360 Version 6.0 which is in its Beta at this time, there are several upgrades that make taking notice of this product well worth the time.

Like other renditions of the product, the Norton 360 Version 6.0 package includes robust protections against viruses, Trojans, malware, bots and much more. It also provides identity protection, backup capabilities and PC Tuneup tools. Essentially, everything computer users have come to expect from this software is included.

Norton 360 Version 6.0, however, takes protections a few steps further than previous products have. This newer, more updated software package also includes:

  • Identity Safe in the Cloud – This new feature protects users and their financial and personal information. It also safeguards against fraudulent websites. The feature is designed to streamline the user interface, simplify login and store passwords “in the cloud” to make accessibility very easy. Users can now access this information from any computer that has Norton 360 Version 6.0 installed or Norton Internet Security 2012.
  • Norton Management – This is a new web-based feature that lets users manage their Norton experience from anywhere in the world. All users need to do is log in and they can remotely manage security settings, add Norton products and update subscriptions if they so choose. In addition, the feature enables users to check their devices and fix issues even if they are not with the devices that require attention.
  • Download Insight Stability – This new features checks downloads prior to installation on a machine to give users data about anticipated stability of the application in the environment they intend to use it.
  • Bandwidth Management – This feature enables users to avoid overage fees in regard to monthly data charges. It works by limiting non-critical updates when users are connected to metered networks. This feature has already been released with the latest Norton AntiVirus 2012 and Norton Internet Security 2012.

Norton 360 Version 6.0 also includes all the standard features customers have become used to seeing in this software package. Such key features as Norton Insight and SONAR remain in this rendition.

Norton 360 Version 6.0 Beta opened in early October and is accepting new applicants. This limited-time offer enables users to check out the new software package at no charge. In exchange for doing so, users can share their opinions to help shape and mold the final retail version when it is released. Here is the more revealing article about Norton 360 Beta.
